FULL MEMBER FIRMS For firms that are individual proprietors, partnerships, Michigan corporations, or foreign corporations engaged in the independent practice of engineering, surveying, architecture or other related scientific professions.
Full Member firms shall have high professional repute and ethical standards, maintain offices in Michigan, and conform to all state requirements to practice (Article 20, Act 299 of 1980 as amended).
Affiliate Members consist of business firms or special institutions, societies or alliances, who in the sole opinion of the Board of Directors, can provide valued assistance to council activities. Affiliate firms provide professional consulting services that support the business operations of member firms, such as management and marketing consultants, attorneys, accountants and professional liability insurance agents.
Membership Dues Membership dues for Full Member firms are determined by a formula based on a firm’s number of employees. Affiliate Member dues are a flat rate set annually by the Board of Directors. New Full Member firms are eligible for an incentive plan and pay only 33% of state and national dues in the first fiscal year, 66% in the second fiscal year, and full dues in their third fiscal year. The ACEC fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30.
